We are running the Hackney Half 👟✨

And we are doing so to raise funds for the British Red Cross Hackney Destitution Resource Centre.

Srishti works at the Centre and experiences everyday how it is an essential part of the community to support a very marginalised group in the UK.

The Centre supports asylum seekers and refugees who are currently destitute. The centre aides those who need vital access to essential things, and many of the service users are currently homeless with no fixed accommodation, resources from the centre go directly to aid our community throughout the week. The Hackney Centre provides casework, asylum application support, clothing, extensive signposting, groceries, toiletries as well as hot meals and an opportunity to socialise and participate in activities. Every week around 150 - 200 people visit the Centre. The only opportunity the centre has to raise funds comes through the Hackney Half, and your support and help makes all the difference!
