Story
On 27 September, we — Darrell and Alex — are planning to be taking on the Ipswich Half Marathon!
Alex, took Darrell (a newly transplanted Texan) to his first ever football game (Ipswich Town FC) and from that friendship grew the idea to do something together...for good.
We started running together as a way to challenge ourselves, but somewhere along the way we decided we wanted those miles to mean a little more. So we’re using this challenge as an opportunity to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and the incredible work they do.
Hearing Dogs trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and potentially life-saving sounds, but their impact goes far beyond that. These dogs provide confidence, independence and companionship, helping people feel more connected to the world around them.
Running 13.1 miles is definitely going to push us — and that’s part of the point. We wanted to set ourselves a challenge while doing something positive along the way.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps turn our miles into something that matters. We’d love for you to come alongside us, support Hearing Dogs, and help us make this about more than just crossing a finish line.
Thank you for being part of it!
