Story
My name is Greg, and I have four wonderful boys.
On 23rd June 2025, we lost our beautiful Patricja — my wife, step mum to Casper, Marcell and Adrian, mum to our son Dorian, sister to Ola, and daughter to Mirek and Barbara.
A short but devastating mental illness took hold very quickly, and on 23rd June 2025, Patricja sadly took her own life.
Patricja was kind, caring, funny, supportive, energetic, and deeply loving. She also had a slightly obsessive side when it came to Ronaldo. She didn’t support a football team — she supported him because she admired the incredible ambassador and person she believed him to be.
Patricja and I spent twelve incredible years together. She was my everything; she was our everything. We miss her beyond words, and our lives are simply not the same without her. We miss her energy, her laughter, her stubbornness, her singing, her dancing — we miss everything she was and everything she meant to us.
We still find ourselves asking why, but we also understand that taking her own life was not Patricja. She had so much to live for. It was an illness that took hold rapidly — an illness that affects so many people and families.
In loving memory of Patricja, myself, our boys, friends, family and work colleagues will be taking part in a walk. We will be walking one mile for every year Patricja and I shared our lives together.
We have chosen to do this walk on 27th June 2026, coming together to share memories, celebrate Patricja’s life, and raise money for two charities that have supported our family through the past year.
We will be walking twelve miles around Gainsborough to raise money for Laybo’s Legacy and Listening Ear.
Laybo’s Legacy kindly provided financial support towards Patricja’s funeral costs, and Listening Ear offer free counselling and support to families like ours as we learn to navigate life without our loved one. They continue to support us to this day.
We would be incredibly grateful for any donation you are able to give. Please choose which charity you would like to donate to. We kindly ask that, where possible, donations are kept as equal as possible between the two charities.
If you are able to share this fundraising page with family and friends, we would greatly appreciate it.
Anyone who has been affected by suicide is welcome to join us on the walk.
Special thanks to two local businesses, Ultimate Graphics for donating a fund raising banner and Brexons work wear for donating fund raising T- Shirts for the walk.
