We are delighted to announce that Team Amber will be participating in "The Big Half 2024" to raise funds for Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.

Noah's Ark Children's Hospice was founded by Michael McInerney after a heartbreaking experience with a child in his family. Determined to offer better options for children in similar situations, Michael launched the hospice's care services in 2006, following years of dedicated fundraising.

This incredible charity supports babies, children, and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. They help families make the most of every precious day together, and for those who cannot be cured, they ensure comfort and dignity in their final moments, surrounded by loved ones.

On July 11, 2023, my baby nephew Callum, just 3.5 months old, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Malignant Rhabdoid Tumours. After an 8-month battle, his medical team recommended transitioning to palliative care.

Noah’s Ark stepped in at this critical time, allowing our family, spread across Europe, to come together. They provided comprehensive palliative care and 24-hour support, along with counselling and emotional support for our family during the last few weeks of Callum's life.

The nurses and support staff at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice made us feel at home. They allowed Callum's cousins to roam the halls and use the facilities, giving us the precious opportunity to spend our final days with him in a comforting environment. The staff's assistance relieved much of the pressure, enabling my sister and her partner to rely on their guidance and support during this incredibly difficult time.

Sadly, on Sunday, March 5, 2023, my beautiful little nephew Callum passed away peacefully in his mother’s arms at just 11 months old. Even after his passing, we received tremendous support and heartfelt condolences from everyone at Noah's Ark. This compassionate care is something all families deserve, and we are deeply grateful that Noah’s Ark exists to provide it.
