Story
I was lucky enough to gain a ballot entry for the 2026 London Marathon and have chosen to raise money for two amazing charities: Alzheimer’s Society and the Pace Centre. Please give what you can to whichever charity you wish.
Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s is a heartbreakingly cruel disease, devastating not only those diagnosed but also the families who love and care for them. I, like many people I know, have experienced first-hand the pain of watching loved ones affected — seeing the personalities of those we cherish most stolen away with such devastating force.
Alzheimer’s Society are striving to work towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They provide care, guidance, and compassionate support — sometimes simply being a shoulder to cry on for those who don’t know where to turn.
Their support has meant so much to my family. During a time when I know I cannot make our current circumstances better, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society feels like a meaningful way to support the incredible work they do for families like ours.
The Pace Centre
The Pace Centre are based in Buckinghamshire and aim to change the lives of children with neurodisabilities. They help children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy to live their life to the fullest, as well as supporting their families along the way. This is done through a wide variety of therapy sessions including physiotherapy and speech and language therapy, as well as specialist education & assistance.
I have chosen to support and raise money for the Pace Centre as I believe the work they do is so important. Over time they have provided support to hundreds of children, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential as well as assisting their families so they are best able to support their child’s needs. But it doesn’t stop there, the Pace Centre want every child in the UK with a neurodisability, and their family, to have access to educational and clinical support and have their sights set on delivering a genuine national impact. The money raised can have an enormous impact, and help to change children’s lives funding activities such as music therapy, specialist swimming lessons and even access to technology which will empower them to learn more independently.
Thank you for your support - it is greatly appreciated X
