Story
This September, the whole Anavo community is getting moving for Miles That Matter – our biggest fundraising challenge to date.
From 12th–19th September, during Care Workers Week, residents, colleagues, families and communities across our homes will come together to travel 500 miles – the distance between all 16 Anavo homes – and raise £10,000 for our Charity of the Year, The Care Workers’ Charity.
Miles That Matter is about more than reaching 500 miles. It’s an opportunity to bring residents, colleagues, families and local communities together while raising funds and awareness for a charity that means a great deal to us.
We chose The Care Workers’ Charity as our Charity of the Year because of the vital role care workers play every day. Supporting the people who dedicate their careers to caring for others is something that closely reflects who we are at Anavo, and we’re proud to get behind a charity focused on supporting the social care workforce.
Every Anavo home is taking part. From resident walking trails and seated dancing to sponsored walks, cycling challenges, half marathons, community events and more, everyone will be contributing miles in their own way.
Our Senior Leadership Team is getting involved too, with founders Jamie and Ed, alongside Development Director Chris, taking on an incredible 260-mile cycle between our homes over three days. Commercial Director Simon will also take on a half marathon between Lancing and Lindridge, joined by a group of Anavo managers.
Whether you want to sponsor a resident, support your local Anavo home, back a particular challenge or donate to Anavo as a whole, every contribution will help us get closer to our £10,000 target.
If you’re supporting someone in particular, leave their name, home or challenge in your donation message so we know who you’re cheering on!
