Story
At 4.00am on Friday 4th July I will be entering the water in the dark to attempt to swim the 12.4 mile (20k) length of the Serre Poncon in France. This is the longest man made lake in Europe.
I am taking on this Ultra swim in support of two wonderful charities – The Samaritans & Age UK. I am hoping to successfully complete the swim in between 10 and 12 hours but if conditions are tough, it could take much longer or I may not succeed.
This is going to be a seriously tough challenge! In open water swimming terms, 10km is considered to be a marathon. So completing 20km will be equivalent to swimming two back to back marathons!
I would be hugely grateful for any donations in support of my efforts to raise many for these two great local charities. Please feel free to donate to either charity or split your donation equally between each as you see fit.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Ash xx
