The Gambia is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Average living per day per capita is just under $2.

Abdullah Aid team have been working in The Gambia for over 5 years supporting communities with shelters, water wells, Masjids and sponsorships.

One of the most requested projects in The Gambia is the construction of homes. Most families in the village live in homes made from mud bricks. These homes are barely suitable for an individual, however most of these homes have families of 4 or more living in them.

During the monsoon season, the homes deteriorate and many times collapse leaving families homeless. Our aim is to provide an entire village with shelter homes constructed from bricks and aluminium roofing in order to move the families into permanent homes where they are safe and protected during the cold nights and heavy rain.
