Story
Aurelia was my (Holly’s) step mum. She was a bright and beautiful person who always went above and beyond for anyone and everyone. She had such a zest for life and brought so much love, kindness and positivity to those around her.
We’re running this half marathon in her memory and to raise money for the hospice that cared for her so incredibly well. Any support, big or small, means so much to us and will help support families going through such a difficult time.
From the day Aurelia met me and my sisters, she treated us as if we were her own children. She never made us feel like anything less than family, and she loved us unconditionally. Her children became our siblings and we became one big extended family.
My dad and her showed us what love should truly look like, supportive, joyful and full of kindness. No matter what, they were always laughing together.

One memory that perfectly sums up who Aurelia was is the first time the friends I’m now running this half marathon with met her. We arrived late, and at the time she was battling cancer and exhausted from treatment, yet she still welcomed them with so much warmth and kindness. She made them instantly feel at home and even gave up her own bed for them.
That was just who she was. Endlessly caring and selfless, even while going through so much herself. Looking at the photo below, you’d think they’d known each other for years. She had such a special way of making everyone feel loved, comfortable and part of the family.

We love you Aurelia, and we’re running this for you!
