It started as a bit of fun bringing old friends back together for some social hockey. Fast forward a year and with a league title secured, new friendships formed and old ones reignited, 2022/3 has been memorable for Lisnagarvey Ladies Back in Blue.

We are joining forces once again to take part in the 10k walk at Breast Foot Forward and importantly, raise much needed funds for Action Cancer - a cause close to our hearts and would appreciate your support in reaching our fundraising target.

Our team (so far!) includes Anne Christie, Alanna Blake, Sarah Colgan, Hannah Coulter, Tori Dickson, Cara Haffey, Sara Hanna, Nicola Mawhinney, Rose Montgomery, Suzanne Morrow, Diane Robb, Kelly Scott, Louise Tolerton and Suzanne Watson.

Action Cancer is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and have been saving lives and supporting people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland for half a century.

Each year the charity provides 8,000 breast screening appointments to ladies aged 40 - 49 and 70+ from our clinic in Belfast and on board the Big Bus which travels to over 200 locations.

For every 1,000 appointments 6 women have their cancer detected when it may otherwise have gone unnoticed.

This service is free to the user but each appointment costs Action Cancer £120. Action Cancer receive no regular support from government so rely on fundraising to help deliver this life-saving service.
