Raising money for University of Liverpool
In memory of Barry Murray

The University of Liverpool's new Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer) Fund has been set up to support ground-breaking research into immunotherapy, a promising new treatment for glioblastoma. link

Story

This Boxing Day, we will be taking part in a charity sea dip at Flamborough in memory of our beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle; Barry Murray.

Barry fought glioblastoma — an aggressive form of brain cancer — for over two years. Throughout his journey, he showed incredible bravery, strength and dignity, even during the hardest moments. He never stopped being himself, never stopped loving his family, and never stopped fighting. Losing him has left a hole in our hearts that will never truly heal.

We wanted to do something meaningful together as a family to honour him and to turn our grief into something positive. That’s why we are fundraising for the Liverpool University Glioblastoma Fund, which supports vital research into this devastating disease and gives hope to families facing the same battle we did.

On Boxing Day, we’ll be plunging into the freezing sea at Flamborough — if you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be helping fund research that could one day lead to better treatments, more time, and ultimately a cure. We hope to honour Barry’s memory by helping others and keeping his strength and courage alive.

Thank you so much for your support, generosity and kindness 🩵
