Andy, Steve and your supporters well done on smashing your cycling challenge, for raising vital funds for your chosen charities and continuing to help raise awareness around prostate cancer. In February 2022 I was shocked to find out I had prostate cancer. After choosing to have it removed I am now on the mend. By openly talking about this scare and people taking on challenges like yours, we can hopefully drive awareness of this potentially fatal disease and encourage more men to get checked. Former Bedford Blues rugby players Andy Whitehouse and Steve Ashton have committed to cycling 300 miles during November (10 miles a day) to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and WE REACH UK.
The help Steve received from Prostate Cancer UK after being diagnosed with the disease this summer was incredible and this is by way of thanking and supporting them.
Steve set up WE REACH UK to support a charity in Kenya that educates primary schools about Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The impact of the program on the children's’ health reduces absenteeism significantly and helps them achieve their full potential.
Although the main aim of the challenge is to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, it would be great to raise some funds for the kids as well.

30 November - Challenge complete with 371 miles cycled! We’d love to increase the total to £3,710 (£10 per mile) so we are keeping this page open for anyone who would like to help us get there
Huge thanks to all our donors as well as the Bedford Blues Former Players Association and Bedford Blues RFC for their support Also to the 15 friends who cycled with us over the month. It was very special to have 8 of them join us today as a fitting finale to a challenging but enjoyable month.
