Story

Thank you for visiting our 'Bee Positives for Rose' Team fundraising page for the Rowans Moonlit Memories Walk. 😘🐝💕

Our team name 'Bee Positives for Rose' is in memory of Rose Hayllar who was a very special Wife, Mum, Nanna, Mother-in Law, Sister and Auntie. We are a team made up of family members walking in her memory and 'Be Positive' was her motto throughout her diagnosis and treatment of Endometrial Cancer.

In the last few days of her life she was cared for by the amazing, dedicated staff and volunteers at Rowans Hospice for which we will always be grateful and she died peacefully at the hospice on 3rd May 2022 so this years walk will be close to the 1st anniversary and will be a special time for us all.

All of us in some way have been great supporters of the Rowans Hospice over the years and some of us have walked in previous years and taken part in various other fundraising events and support activities. Some of us are walking 6 miles and others are walking 10 miles but every step and every penny is just as important! 🚶‍♀️👟

We would really appreciate any donations you are able to give to help us to honour Rose's memory and to help support a fantastic charity who need every penny in these challenging times to continue to offer the wonderful care and services that they offer to so many people.

Rowans Hospice provide palliative and end-of-life care to the highest quality for those living with a life-limiting illness in the South East of Hampshire. Our highly trained hospice carers help to improve quality of life for the patient by easing physical symptoms as well as offering psychological, spiritual and social support to both patients and their loved ones.

Our dedicated hospice care is available round the clock either in house or at home, as well as offering services for day visitors in our Living Well Centre. Wellbeing events and classes are available to carers, patients and the bereaved with no referral required.

Whilst our care is provided free of charge, we are in fact a hospice charity and 90% of our income is generated by legacies, donations, fundraising and our retail shops. Through your generous donations and fundraising we continue to provide much needed support to the community and make a difference to so many lives and for this we thank you.
