We provide emergency aid and assistance to those affected by conflict & disaster

Story

Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar and her team are on a Mission. We want to build capacity within our community for bereavement support especially in the aftermath of Covid-19. A huge number of lives have been lost in the pandemic- with those of Black, Asian or Ethnically diverse backgrounds being twice as likely to die when compared to the wider community according to research.

Our team are teaching safe Covid Ghusl (Ritual Washing of the body) and Kafn (shrouding) in a practical and hands on workshop coming to a Mosque or community centre near you. Contact: 07940568586 for any queries or registration for the next class.

We have also created bereavement packs for grieving families- for those moments of solitude when the Janazah is over and everyone has gone home- when someone really needs words of comfort in the absence of their social circle.

The pack contains a wonderful English Translation Quran in an easy to understand script, several books on what happens to the soul after death and an electronic tasbeeh all given as a sadaqa jaaria on behalf of the deceased's loved one's legacy along with a handwritten sympathy card.

Each pack costs £50 and is gifted to each bereaved family at the point of Janazah. This is an amazing source of Sadaqa Jaaria- for every word and letter read from the Quran to every dua made for the dearly departed loved one, the donor and the wider community for this precious support.

We will also be offering a Kafn Cutting service (£50 per Kafn) in future classes in sha Allah with 100% of the donation for the cloth to support this campaign and bereaved families. WATCH THIS SPACE....

When emergencies strike, we act and mobilise. We respond immediately to ensure the most vulnerable are protected, their basic needs are met, and lives are saved. Our work is driven by immediate response and effective delivery, but we stay long after a disaster to help restore lives. As an NGO we are guided by our drive to help others, not profit. When emergencies strike, we act to ensure to save lives and protect the vulnerable. When the emergency is over, we stay and help restore lives. We were founded in 2011 in the UK by a group of doctors whose sole focus was to provide assistance and aid to those devastated by conflict. For over a decade we have built an expertise in responding to humanitarian needs to benefit the most vulnerable people affected by conflict, disasters and extreme poverty.
