What do three veterans, one serving member of the Armed Forces, two alpacas and a well-travelled Land Rover have in common?

One mission.

This August, we'll be travelling the length and breadth of Scotland with Bernie and Harry, our two much-loved alpacas, on a fundraising adventure called "Where in the World is Bernie?"

Our goal is simple: to raise vital funds and awareness for Charlie Charlie One (CC1), a charity that provides peer support to serving personnel, veterans and their families who are facing one of life's toughest battles – cancer.

This journey is deeply personal.

All four members of our team are cancer survivors themselves. We know first-hand the fear that comes with hearing the words, "You have cancer." We understand the uncertainty, the treatments, the impact on families, and the loneliness that can sometimes follow. Those experiences are the reason Charlie Charlie One exists.

No one who has served our country should have to face cancer alone.

Charlie Charlie One offers understanding from people who have walked a similar path. Whether it's a listening ear, practical advice, someone to talk to who simply "gets it", or signposting to additional support, we're there when people need us most.

As demand for our services continues to grow, so does the need for funding.

Every mile we travel, every person we meet, and every smile Bernie and Harry bring is helping us spread awareness of the charity and start conversations about cancer, mental wellbeing and the importance of peer support within the Armed Forces community.

Along the way we'll be visiting communities, military landmarks and some of Scotland's most iconic locations, meeting supporters, sharing stories and encouraging people to follow Bernie's journey.
