Raising money for THE BLOCK, ARMED FORCES FOUNDATION

The Block Armed Forces Foundation provides homelessness prevention & crisis management services to the Armed Forces & Veteran Community. The charity supports on average 420 veterans and service personnel a year, around 25% of the people supported need crisis management & emergency accommodation.

Story

On the 15th May 2026 veterans and volunteers from The Block armed forces foundation will sleep out for one night under the stars at St Luke's Church, more commonly known by locals as the bombed-out church, is a former Anglican parish church in Liverpool, England. It stands on the corner of Berry Street and Leece Street, at the top of Bold Street.

The church was built between 1811 and 1832, The church was badly damaged by bombs during the Liverpool Blitz in 1941 and has been a roofless shell ever since, giving rise to its nickname. It now stands as a memorial to those who died in the war.

On 10th April 2026, we’ll be taking part in a sponsored Sleep Out at the iconic Liverpool Bombed Out Church to raise vital funds for The Block Armed Forces Foundation (Registered Charity 1205854).

For one night, we’ll give up our beds and sleep out in solidarity with those who are experiencing homelessness in the city region and across the U.K.

While this is a powerful gesture for us, for too many veterans and local people it is a daily reality. The funds raised will help us provide emergency accommodation support, essential household items, one-to-one advocacy, and long-term housing solutions helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.

Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference. Please support us and help us ensure that no veteran is left without a place to call home.
