Hi everyone,

We are Penny (53) and daughters Cressy and Isca (22), and together we are Team Bird. In April 2026, we will be running the London Marathon for Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of our dad/grandpa, Peter (“Papa”).

Peter died after a short but aggressive battle with MND in 2021. Diagnosed in June and gone by December, we watched him face this cruel disease with strength, dignity and grace. His words stay with us always: “If there was hope I would fight, but there is no hope.”

We want to change that. Please help us reach our team goal of raising £10,000 to bring more research, more support and more hope to families facing this devastating disease.

Running a marathon is no small challenge – Penny is completely new to running, and Cressy and Isca are taking it on fresh out of university – but we are determined to do this together. We’ll be training hard, planning fundraising events, and keeping each other motivated every step of the way.
