Five members of our BNI Thames Maidenhead chapter- Lorraine Sellwood, Greg Stanworth, David Ward, Jordan Martin and I, are taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride to raise money for our amazing charity, Absolutely Together.

The families we support often struggle to enjoy the family activities that many of us can take for granted. The cost of days out, combined with the challenges of finding activities that are suitable for children with additional needs, can mean families miss out on valuable opportunities to have fun and spend time together.

Absolutely Together is there to change that.

We provide families with free access to a wide range of inclusive leisure activities, helping to reduce social isolation, bring families together and create memories that will last a lifetime.

One of the things I am particularly proud of is our Christmas programme. Every year, we aim to give more than 1,000 families the opportunity to enjoy a pantomime or special Christmas experience together — something that might otherwise be out of reach for them.

The money we raise from this bike ride will go directly towards making that happen.

So, five of us are taking our networking onto the saddle and swapping our usual BNI meetings for a 55-mile ride from London to Brighton — all to help put more smiles on more families' faces.
