Scott’s Story – Year 6 for Dad 💚
This will be our 6th year of raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my dad, Bob.
In the five years so far, with the help of so many generous people, we’ve raised an incredible £54,000. Every single pound has been donated in honour of Dad and in support of the amazing work Macmillan do for families going through the toughest times of their lives.
When my dad was in his final months, Macmillan were there.
They provided support, guidance, reassurance and dignity — not just for him, but for all of us. At a time when everything feels overwhelming, they help carry the weight. That’s something I will never forget.
Each year we take on a new challenge to push ourselves physically and mentally — because cancer pushes families far beyond what they think they can handle.
This year we’re stepping it up again.
For 2026, we’re taking on the Commando Challenge — inspired by Royal Marines training. It’s a brutal test of endurance featuring mud, obstacles, water, and plenty of suffering along the way. It’s going to hurt… but that’s kind of the point.
Because cancer is harder.
If families are fighting this every single day, we can dig deep for a few hours.
Our goal this year is huge. We would love to push past £60,000 raised in Dad’s memory. That milestone would mean everything to us and would be a true testament to the man he was.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got.
If you’re diagnosed, your worries become their worries. They do whatever it takes. But they can only do that with support from people like you.
If you can donate — no matter how small — it genuinely makes a difference.
If you can share the page — that helps just as much.
Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you for remembering Dad.
And thank you for helping Macmillan continue to be there for families like ours.
Let’s bring it home and hit £60k 💚
