Story
This year, three of us from Bridge of Don Sea Cadets are bravely (or foolishly) taking on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk—18 miles of tartan‑powered determination—to raise funds for a much‑needed new minibus for our growing unit!
Why are we doing it?
Because without a minibus, our cadets practically need to walk from Bridge of Don to Peterhead Harbour—a solid 30 miles—just to get near the water. And that’s before they even start learning to sail!
We figured making the kids walk 30 miles probably breaches some kind of rule, so instead we’re taking one for the team. In fact, we’re walking extra miles to cover for those cadets who live even further away. Consider it our charitable cardio.
Our unit is bursting with brilliant young people learning real skills, serving their community, and turning into leaders we’re incredibly proud of. What they don’t need is to become endurance athletes just to get to training.
That’s where our Kiltwalk comes in.
By donating, you’ll help us get a reliable minibus so every cadet—no matter how far they live—can get to courses, events, adventures, and of course, the water (by vehicle, not on foot!).
If you can spare a few quid, you’ll be supporting our cadets—and encouraging the three of us to keep moving despite early signs of regret.
💙 Thank you for helping keep our Sea Cadets moving (so they don’t have to walk to Peterhead)! 💙
