Why I’m Taking on a Skydive for Bowel Cancer UK
I never thought I’d be the person to willingly jump out of a plane, but here I am, taking on a skydive for something that means so much to me.
I’m doing this for my auntie.
My auntie is someone who means an incredible amount to me, and seeing someone you love face something as frightening and unfair as cancer is something that changes you. It’s difficult to put into words how it feels watching a member of your family go through something you wish you could take away from them.
I wanted to do something that felt bigger than just saying “I’m here for you”. Something that would challenge me, push me completely outside of my comfort zone and, most importantly, raise money for a cause that is so close to my heart.
So, I decided that jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane was the way to do it! 😂
I know there will probably be a lot of nerves, and I’m sure I’ll question my life choices when I’m standing at the edge of that plane, but I’ll keep reminding myself exactly why I’m doing it.
I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible for Bowel Cancer UK, to help support their work, raise awareness and hopefully help other families who find themselves facing bowel cancer.
This skydive is something I’m doing for my auntie, but every donation will be for so much more than just one person. It’s for everyone affected by bowel cancer, for the families supporting their loved ones, and for the hope that one day fewer people will have to go through this.
If you’re able to donate, I honestly couldn’t thank you enough. Every single donation, no matter how small, will mean so much to me and will help make throwing myself out of a plane feel slightly more worthwhile! 😂❤️
And if you can’t donate, please don’t worry — sharing my page is just as appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me, my Auntie and Bowel Cancer UK. ❤️
