In 2007 Sir Christopher Ball suggested that the Windermere Marathon incorporated a 10 marathons in 10 days event. 12 years later it's one of the "UK's toughest running events".

Story

We are running the Windermere Marathon on Sunday 17th May as part of a team of 26 like minded energetic individuals who have been persuaded by Paul Mayson to run and support him and the Brathay fund raising effort during his attempt to conquer the Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days challenge !

The 10 in 10 starts on Friday 8th May 2020 with 10 consecutive laps of the 26.2 mile Lake Windermere Marathon course. It concludes on Sunday 17th May with the main Windermere Marathon event. We are all joining him on that day to run our own race, support him and importantly each other, in getting to the finish line.

Please support me in our collective effort to raise as much as possible for The Brathay Trust, a fantastic organisation which makes an incredible difference to the lives of so many young people who simply need a chance to thrive and flourish.

The charitable work of Brathay is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters’ commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people. There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation !

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
