Raising money for Cecily's Fund

Since 1998 Cecily's Fund has transformed the lives of thousands of the most vulnerable children in Zambia by enabling them to go to school. Education gives them a ladder out of the destitution to which they are otherwise condemned. Tragically Cecily died there in her gap year. This is her legacy.

Story

Graham Lowden is my brother-in-law. A native of Cape Town, he is a highly accomplished and respected Chartered Civil Engineer. Graham has an amazing recall of all things, we call him Google Cape Town. Graham will be great company and has an interest in wild life and fauna.

David Forgus is a renown Cape Town professional photographer of the still and video format. A former mechanical engineer who will also prove useful in emergencies but I hope not to have to use his skill or assistance! David will photographically record the tour as it is hoped the BBC or Discovery Channel etc may be interested in the story of this crazy adventure but a serious charity raising event.

Graham Pringle a resident of Cape Town who spent his early life in Zimbabwe and with a family history to the Pioneer Column to the original Salisbury of Southern Rhodesia (Harare Zimbabwe). Like Peter he is a avid bird photographer and experienced birder who will be a great asset since birding will be a key aspect of the trip.

Peter Hills, engineer businessman and Fellow of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing is the restorer of the car; he will drive the 1929 Morris Minor for most of the trip. Running maintenance and hopefully no repairs should be easily achieved as he knows the car to its smallest detail. Peter is also a keen photographer (see http://www.worldbirdphotos.com); he will add to David's assignment. We want to build a portfolio of pictures with the Morris at iconic locations to add further interest to the story of this historic car, only one of nine in the World on the road.
