Story

Why we’re taking on the Lake District 100km Challenge

In June 2026, my brother Eddy and I will be taking on the Lake District 100km Challenge.

This isn’t about chasing medals or proving anything. It’s about perspective.

Over the past year, our family has learned—very clearly—that nothing is guaranteed. We’ve learned to take each day as it comes, to slow down, and to genuinely cherish time together while we have it. That mindset is what’s carrying us into this challenge.

Our mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, and since that moment, the support we’ve received from the MND Association has been nothing short of incredible. They haven’t just provided guidance or resources—they’ve treated mum like a superstar. With dignity, compassion, and real human care.

Watching that level of support has stayed with us.

Running 100km through the Lake District will be physically tough, mentally draining, and uncomfortable at times—but it’s a small act compared to what families affected by MND face every single day. If we can turn that effort into something meaningful, then every step is worth it.

We’re doing this to give back. To support a charity that shows up when it truly matters. And to honour the mindset we now live by: take nothing for granted, and make the most of every moment while you can.

Thank you for any support you’re able to give—it genuinely means more than you know.
