After many chats about “how can we help? and “what can we do?” Rory Graham and Mark Bunting have been galvanised into doing something to help the brave Ukrainians defend themselves against Putin's “Special Military Operation”, which has killed and wounded so many thousands of innocent civilians. Not only has this war devastated their country, but Ukrainians are fighting to safeguard the very same values which we share, and that our parents fought so hard for in the past.

We have linked up with the fantastic charity P4P (Pickups for Peace), which is run by volunteers from the UK farming community. This Charity has already sent 268 pickups to Lviv in Ukraine, so this is a well-trodden path, and by partnering with them, they will ensure the vehicle ends up in the right hands.

With your donations, we intend to purchase a used 4x4 pick-up truck, and drive it to Ukraine where it can be put to good use to be used to ferry aid and supplies up to the frontline and for them to be able to return with the wounded so they can reach medical help. There is a real need for more 4x4 vehicles, as they can access hard to reach areas.

The April dates for our trip are planned, but not advertised, and once we have got to Warsaw we will be part of a convoy delivering your vehicle to the Ukranian Army in Lviv, for distribution to the units where the need is the greatest.

Pickups for Peace have provided us with this “shopping list” of humanitarian items required. Our budget assumes a vehicle to be purchased for £4-6k, with the balance being used for purchase of supplies such as night vision goggles, tourniquets and drones. Do feel free to contact us direct if you can provide spades, car maintenance items and chainsaws etc.

We stress that we will be self-funding the fuel and other travel and accommodation costs so your money and donations will reach Ukraine with no deductions. The trip will take us five days and we will be driving some 1,500 miles. We will provide a full report to all our supporters on our return

We hope with your generosity to help the Ukrainians in their time of need, just when western nations are losing interest and reducing military and financial assistance.
