Raising money for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal
In memory of Calum Morris

The Grand Appeal is the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity, transforming the lives of sick children from Bristol, the South West and beyond. Help save the lives of sick children, provide pioneering medical equipment and keep families together by donating or fundraising for The Grand Appeal.

Story

Freya, Jess and I are running the Bristol Half Marathon on the 10th of May 2026. This is Freya and Jess’s first Half Marathon, a huge challenge in memory of Calum.

My Dad, John and brother Oliver is taking on the challenge of running the Bristol 10k. This will be the furthest distance John and Oliver have ever run and will be a huge challenge!!

The Grand Appeal is a charity close to our family’s heart. The Grand Appeal's work helps fund vital hospital equipment, accommodation for families, and research into children’s health. Calum received care at Bristol’s Children Hospital for the first 18 years of his life and benefited from many of the services that The Grand Appeal funded. The play specialists and music therapists were such an important part of Calum's hospital life and these incredibly people are funded by the charity. In the last 2 years of Calum’s life he started doing work experience at the Grand Appeal office. He absolutely loved his time there and built up some amazing relationships with the incredible staff..

The Grand Appeal provided support to Calum during his hospital stays but also giving him the opportunity to learn vital employment skills. We cannot thank the staff at the Grand Appeal enough for making Calum feel so welcomed and part of the team.

We would love to raise as much money as possible to thank the Grand Appeal for all the amazing work they do, which so many families across Bristol and the South West and Wales utilise.

I know Calum would be hugely proud of all of us for running in his memory (or would think we are slightly mad). Any donation would be greatly appreciated, all your support means so much to us all.
