Raising money for The Goed Life

Royal Windsor Triathlon 2022 · 12 June 2022 ·

Our mission is to enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities by providing funding to various organisations, services and individuals for respite, holidays, training and other forms of care. Our primary mission is to help people with learning disabilities train for meaningful employment, giving them a sense of purpose, direction and belonging in their local community.

Story

Cam, Ned and I have decided to complete the Royal Windsor Triathlon in aid of The Goed Life. Inspired by Chris Nikic, we thought that the Goed Life provides the perfect platform for us to raise awareness of equality for those with learning difficulties as well as the hurdles that must be overcome.

Cam has an irrationally large fear of open water, and I have an irrationally large fear of any form of long distance running...so we have some hurdles of our own to overcome! We will be posting updates on the Goed Life's social media channels, any support/advice will be most welcomed!

***UPDATE***

Unfortunately, the Windsor Tri has been cancelled. As frustrating as this is, we still want to complete a challenge. We are now going to complete our own half ironman triathlon. The preliminary date is the 11th of June, which will include:

- 1.9km sea swim

- 90km bike ride

- 21.1km Half Marathon
