Raising money for British Heart Foundation

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Last year, I challenged myself to try new things and raise money for great causes.

I learned how to ride a road bike (and fell off multiple times. I hate those clippy things!). I completed the London to Brighton bike ride, which was terrifying in the busy streets of London and pure joy riding through the British countryside.

I then ran the Kenilworth Half Marathon. Very hilly, but very enjoyable despite the dodgy knee.

The BIG one was meant to be the Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim. I went to swimming lessons to learn freestyle and, luckily for me at the time, it was cancelled. I was not ready!

I'm still not sure I'm ready, but the day has finally arrived. On Saturday, I'll be taking on the challenge and, if I'm honest, I am TERRIFIED.

I have made great progress over the past six months. The experience has given me a whole new appreciation of how children feel when they are learning something difficult. I know my biggest barrier is in my head. I get in the water and PANIC.

But I can do this.

Hopefully, next week I'll be able to tell the tale of how I faced my fears and made it from pier to pier.

If you can support this great cause, I would be incredibly grateful. I need to raise £220 for the British Heart Foundation.

I was inspired by Rian, my SuperRiano. He has faced far greater challenges than I ever will, and I will be thinking of him on Saturday as my motivation to face my fears and conquer them.

Thank you for your support.

❤️
