The Carer Experience Service is abseiling down the 11-storey Lister Hospital tower block – which is going to be an amazing (and slightly nerve-wracking!) experience. But more importantly, we are doing it to raise vital funds to support carers and young carers in our hospitals.

Every day we see the incredible role that carers play in supporting their loved ones during a hospital stay. We also see the challenges they face. Through this fundraiser, we are hoping to raise money via East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals' Charity to enhance the support we can offer – including providing carers’ beds so loved ones can stay close, activity packs and dedicated support for young carers, and additional resources that make a hospital stay a little easier for families.

Lister Hospital provides outstanding care to so many people in our community, and this is our way of giving something back – not just to patients, but to the families who care for them every single day.

We are both nervous and excited about taking on this challenge, and we would truly appreciate your support. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us make a real difference to carers when they need it most.
