Story
Ever wanted to do good for the world, while simultaneously inflicting pain on others? Well now’s your chance. Donate with us and we’ll put ourselves through a gruelling 10hr march for your satisfaction, while raising money for a good cause! What are you waiting for?!
The hike is 10 peaks in 10 hours, and we’re dedicating the journey to two of the finest specimens of humanity, sadly no longer with us. Adam Montgomery, and Dan Atkinson.
Adam was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive case of MS in his early 20s which was incredibly hard for him so we’re proud to be raising money on his behalf, to help all the others living with MS today.
We also wanted to do something to celebrate the life of another of our close friends, Dan Atkinson, who sadly died to just over a year ago. Dan was a keen hiker, and was in the process of collecting his wainwrights before his death, so therefore we dedicate this hike to the both of them!
Also, on top of this, both of these tragic deaths were a result of suicide - an issue particularly prominent in Cumbria, where the suicide rates are 50% above the national average, so we would also like to do this walk to raise awareness of this silent killer, and recommend everyone visit the link below to inform yourselves how best to recognise suicidal tendencies in others, and how best to support those in need (as well as seeking help for yourselves if needed).
