Story
We are running the London Marathon in memory of our dad, Simon. Dad passed away unexpectedly in 2017 due to an underlying heart condition. None of us knew that his heart condition could be life-threatening and experiencing the pain of losing a parent and a best friend, has made us want to raise awareness of his condition, cardiomyopathy. Although we are running this race for BHF, we are mainly running it together, in memory of an amazing father, husband, and friend to so many. Dad will continue to inspire us every day and push us out of our comfort zones, to really get the most out of life.
"A ship is always safe in the harbour, but that is not what they were designed for." - Simon’s favourite quote
We miss him every single day and although he is not physically here anymore, he is always in our hearts. This will be a huge challenge for us, so we appreciate any donation towards the BHF and we will try our very best to complete this run in a good time and in high spirits!
Thank you, Love Henry and Olivia x
BHF:
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every single pound helps.
