Story
Charlotte and Ryan are taking on 100km in May for Bliss, the UK's leading charity helping babies born premature or full-term, but sick.
In August 2024 our gorgeous boy Rory Thomas was born with Long Gap OA (Oesophageal Atresia). Rory spent 87 days in Manchester St Mary’s NICU, before he was even 24 hours old Rory had his first surgery to fit a feeding tube into his stomach with his major 12 hour surgery happening when Rory was 5 weeks old to bridge the gap between his stomach and oesophagus by using part of his bowel. Rory’s time in NICU was an emotional rollercoaster but we will forever be grateful to every single person who helped us on our journey. NICU can be a scary isolating place, the more support available the better. We were lucky to have amazing support with family, friends, new friends in NICU, including staff and the charity volunteers.
1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist neonatal care, which means thousands of babies and their families seek information and support from Bliss every year.
By sponsoring us, your donation will help Bliss continue their work to ensure that every baby born premature or full-term who needs neonatal care will have the best chance of survival and quality of life.
