Story
This year, instead of birthday gifts or money, I am asking for donations to Parkinson's UK, Crisis, WWF, and Save the Children for my 24th birthday. I already have more blessings and privileges than I could ask for in my life, and nothing would make me happier than for money to go to these amazing causes instead.
I've chosen Parkinson's UK in memory of my grandad, Richard, who sadly passed away in 2020 and who is still missed greatly. I'm hoping to see a cure in my lifetime, so any support is greatly appreciated.
I've chosen Crisis because I believe homelessness is something nobody should have to face, and their work supporting people, especially over Christmas, is nothing short of inspirational.
I've chosen WWF because it saddens me greatly to see wonderful animals around the world affected by the climate crisis and human-made devastation.
And finally, I've chosen Save the Children because of their incredible work supporting children in accessing food, health, and education in places including Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Syria and many more, as well as supporting children in poverty in the UK.
Please don't feel obliged to donate any more than you comfortably can – I know times are tough! Also feel free to donate anonymously, and rest assured I won't be keeping tabs on who has or hasn't given anything.
If you don't want to donate to all the charities evenly, please donate to whichever cause(s) you feel most strongly about, although I am hoping that each charity will receive roughly an even quarter of the donations (so feel free to top one up if they start lagging behind!)
The fundraiser will close on September 19th 2025, one month after my birthday, meaning belated donations are more than welcome!
Thank you so much in advance.
