Story
This July, a group of us from across the Highways and Transportation sector are taking on the Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle route—riding from Whitehaven to Newcastle over three days.
That means long days in the saddle, some serious climbs through the Lake District and North Pennines, and (hopefully) a bit of sunshine along the way. It’s a tough challenge, but one we’re taking on together.
We’re doing it to raise money for NE Youth, a fantastic charity that has been supporting young people across the North East for over 90 years. Their work provides opportunities, guidance, and safe spaces for young people to grow, develop, and thrive—something that’s more important than ever.
Last year, this ride raised over £6,000, which set the bar pretty high. This year, we’re aiming to go even further—with your help.
To keep things interesting (and visible!), one of our ride days will feature a bit of fancy dress, with riders sporting World Cup football shirts—the more obscure and ridiculous, the better. So if you spot a slightly struggling cyclist dressed as a 90s goalkeeper… you’ll know why.
Every donation—big or small—will make a real difference and is hugely appreciated by both the team and NE Youth.
Thank you for your support!
