Story
We have set ourselves the challenge this year to trek the full 51.4km (31.93 miles) of the Ullswater Way – a stunning but demanding circular route around Ullswater, the second-largest lake in the Lake District.
The walk includes over 1,200m of elevation and is expected to take up to 14 hours to complete. This will be a serious test of endurance — definitely not just a walk by the water — but it’s all in support of an incredible cause that we at Barbon are proud to get behind.
The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a vital, lifesaving service that responds to some of the most serious incidents across our counties. Operating 365 days a year, their highly skilled crew deliver critical care to patients at the scene, often making the difference between life and death.
The charity receives no direct Government funding and relies entirely on donations to keep flying and saving lives. Every mission costs on average £4,000, and with thousands of call-outs each year, community support is absolutely essential.
We’re taking on this challenge to help keep the yellow helicopter in the skies — and your support will make every step worth it.
