💙 Running for Diabetes UK — My BIG Reason

I am literally running away from Diabetes. I’ve reversed Type 2 diabetes!

After years of uncertainty and rollercoaster - I finally have control. In my 50th year this is the best birthday gift I can give to myself and hopefully others through this fundraising.

This year is all about celebrating that transformation, and my BIG celebration is doing something I never thought I would: my first ever run🏃‍♀️✨

I've changed everything about my lifestyle completely — and I’ll be sharing bits of that journey and my training on here and on my socials. I’m lucky to have my amazing friend and colleague, now friend, Maddy, training alongside me and joining me on the day. She’s fab! And of course, my lovely family — my husband and two children — have been part of every step of this epic change. 💪💙

I’ll be proudly running in Scamp & Dude (I’m a total Duder — if you know, you know!). Wearing S&D makes me feel epic and confident and gives me a stride in my step!

One thing I won’t be sharing is before-and-after photos. This journey isn’t about comparison or perfection or offering myself for judgement and critism - women's bodies are subjected to this enough!. I’ve also learned that there’s no “after” — no finish line, no target to reach. The work to stay healthy will never end.
