In 2026, a group of perfectly sensible people decided to walk barefoot across burning hot coals at the Midsummer Festival, raising money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

You’d think we would have learnt our lesson.

We have not.

For Midsummer 2027, we’re swapping hot coals for something equally questionable: a BED OF NAILS!

A group of brave (or easily persuaded) volunteers will be taking on the challenge at the Callington Methodist Church Midsummer Festival, raising money for Children’s Hospice South West.

Behind the madness is a cause that really matters. Children’s Hospice South West provides vital care and support to children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families.

So please dig deep and sponsor our volunteers. Every donation, big or small, will help turn our questionable decision-making into something genuinely worthwhile.
