Story
Best friends, Megan & Jennie, running together in the Paris 2024 Marathon in memory of Cody Stake.
Cody Stake, Megan’s husband, lost his life to Brain Cancer 2 years ago, at just 36 years old.
Cody was incredible person, he lived a full life of adventure, had the biggest, kindest heart and is missed more than words can describe. His son George embodies his loving, confident, energetic personality and his legacy lives on through all who love him.
Our lives were turned upside down following Cody’s cancer diagnosis, it changed everything forever. During Cody’s fight, Megan was also diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer.
A cancer diagnosis is a frightening time and can be very lonely. You are setting off into a world you have no idea how to navigate. Ahead of the Game Foundation provide fully funded physical, mental and emotional support to those diagnosed with cancer. The Foundation also extends crucial support not only to those battling the life-altering impact of cancer but also to their families and loved ones, empowering them through the challenging and often overwhelming journey of life-threatening, life-changing, and life-debilitating effects caused by this cruel disease. We are so happy to see this groundbreaking foundation in our home town of Liverpool. The founder, Dave Bolton, is living with a Grade 4 Brain Tumour and is living proof that more of this type of support is needed! Their work is saving peoples lives alongside medical intervention and we would love to see it available to more people!
Megan and Jennie have been friends for over 25 years, by each others side through every up and down. On April 7th, 2024, we will run the Paris Marathon in memory of Cody, to raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity. Any support you can offer is appreciated beyond words. Please share the story of Ahead of the Game foundation to show the world the amazing work this charity is doing for those fighting this horrible disease.
