Story
THE CORNISH PILGRIMAGE SUPPORTING CORNWALL HOSPICE CARE
I started walking for charity when I was 34, in 1992 and have completed close to 38,000 miles in walks and Global expeditions. In 2010, I founded a 200-mile Pilgrimage of Cornwall in honour of Cornwall Hospice Care which I walk each year for the charity. In addition, this year, we intend to fundraise as a group using sections of the Cornish Pilgrimage covering most of the county. There is little help from the government these days so it is important to step up and help the charity and we are inviting the public to participate in each of these events. The registration fee will be £10 per head; passports will be provided to participants to collect stamps/signatures en-route; and there are certificates of achievement available on completion. Also, I appreciate money is tight for all of us, but would like to see public donations of at least a £1 where possible. We are very grateful for anything! Thank you!! God Bless you all in these very difficult and uncertain times! I promise I will do my best to help Cornwall Hospice Care, and look forward to meeting future participants.
Our purpose is to provide compassionate, specialised end of life care for patients, their families and carers at the time when they need it most. Together with our local community in Cornwall we will continue to make every day matter.
We strive to develop and secure the resources necessary to achieve this, both now and in the future. With only 17% of our funding coming from Cornwall's NHS Commissioners, the rest is raised with the support of the people of Cornwall and beyond - thank you all.
