Mayday is a call for help. Usually, RNLI lifesavers answer mayday calls and go to rescue others. But today, with a busy summer on the way, its they who need YOUR help. The Mayday Mile is a way to answer their call.

Story

Have you ever wanted to answer a Mayday call from someone who really needs your help? Are you prepared to go that extra mile to help save lives at sea? The volunteer crew of Crosshaven RNLI would like you to join their Mayday Mile challenge. Just complete one mile, or as many miles as you can manage, between Saturday 1 and Sunday 16 May 2021. Go solo or in a group, walk or run, skip or dance, roller skate or scoot - the choice is yours. All we ask is that you register for your JustGiving page, use the hashtag #MyMaydayMile on social media, and raise as much as you can to support the RNLI over the busy summer season. If you raise €55, you will receive an RNLI Mayday Mile Medal or a special Mayday wristband. Every cent raised makes you a hero in our eyes, and together we will save lives at sea. Thank you. #MyMaydayMile

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
