Cycle4Cam. Tabard Rugby Players fundraising for Orchid Cancer

Raising money for Orchid Cancer
In memory of Cameron O'Connor

Over 58,000 people will be diagnosed with prostate, testicular or penile cancer every year in the UK. Orchid exists to save lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through a range of support services, pioneering research and promoting awareness.

Story

We are embarking on an epic 180-mile cycle over two days in honour of our Captain and teammate, Cameron O’Connor.

Cam sadly passed away in 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His determination, grit, and strength throughout his journey were a true testament to the incredible man he was. Now it’s 'our' turn to channel that same resilience as we hit the road in his memory.

We’re taking on this challenge to raise funds for Orchid Cancer Trust, an organisation that played a vital role in supporting Cam during his illness. Orchid Cancer Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting men affected by testicular, prostate, and penile cancers. It’s a poignant cause for us, as they continue to help so many others and their families facing similar battles.

Cam came to the UK in 2007 to play rugby for Rotherham Titans before heading south in 2008 to join Tabard RFC, where he spent the rest of his rugby career as a player, coach, and always a wise word giver to anyone who’d listen.

To honour our great friend, we’ll be cycling from Rotherham Titans to Tabard RFC, journey that symbolises his impact on both clubs and the lives he touched along the way.

Any amount you’re able to donate would mean the world to us, to Cam’s beloved wife Jo and daughter Ava, and to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Thank you for supporting our ride for Camo.
