Raising money for Alzheimer's Society
In memory of Gene McFarlane

adidas Manchester Marathon 2026 · 19 April 2026 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

At Alzheimer’s Society, we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

Every day, countless individuals and families are affected by this challenging condition, facing uncertainties and heartache. We strive to provide support to those living with dementia today, ensuring they receive the care and understanding they deserve.

As I prepare to participate in the adidas Manchester Marathon on April 19, 2026, I am reminded of the strength and resilience of those impacted by dementia. Together, we can make a difference.

I am raising funds with a target of £500 to help advance the vital work of Alzheimer’s Society. Your generous contributions will not only support current initiatives but also foster hope for a brighter future for all affected by this condition.

This charity is very close to our hearts. Diana lost her dad to dementia in October 2023, and we’ve seen just how devastating this illness can be.

I’m running to help raise funds for vital research and support services, and I’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small.

Thank you for supporting me and this important cause 💙

Join me in this journey; let’s run for those who cannot and bring awareness to a cause that needs our collective voice.
