We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

On Sunday 21 September, we will be running the Ipswich Half Marathon, in memory of mum (Chrissy). It will be the first time Danni has ever taken on the challenge of running a half marathon.

We will be doing so to raise money for Blood Cancer UK, a charity committed to beating blood cancer, as well as supporting those who have been diagnosed with it and their families.

In 2015, Chrissy was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis - a rare form of blood cancer. Initially given a prognosis of 18 months to live, Chrissy went on to enjoy 10 further years before passing away on Tuesday 8 April 2025.

Her loss has left a huge, devastating hole in the family and it feels right to take this challenge on in her memory, to help support other families currently facing the same or similar diagnoses. Treatment helped Chrissy to live life to the fullest and to be present for so many life events she otherwise may have missed. We are hopeful that with continued research, other families can go on to live many more healthy lives with their loved ones.

We are grateful for what ever donation you are able to give - thank you so much.
