Story

What better way to celebrate being 40 by doing a marathon! Well actually 5 marathons in 5 days for 5 brilliant charities who over the years have helped friends family or myself.

Update: in December i suffered an injury (pattelar tendinitis)stopping me from running so the 5 marathons will now be walked

Here is a reason on why I have chosen to raise money for these charities.

OCD ACTION

I have ocd. A horrible disorder that lots of people suffer with. Finding help and information can be very tough. I've used ocd action many times for there support groups or just general information. There work helps lots of people and by raising some money for them it would mean a lot to me to give a little something back

ST NICOLAS HOSPICE

The hospice does fantastic work supporting and taking care of family's in what is the most difficult time. In 2011 they took care of my grandad in his final days not only did they look after him but also were very supportive towards the rest of the family . In 2019 my friend Matt Taylor's (Dennis) dad Paul, was taken care of by St Nicholas hospice once again providing great care for not only Paul but also the rest of there family in such a hard time.

MENINGITIS NOW

This charity provides support, raises awareness and researchers Meningitis. There work is crucial in helping families like my own who have been through meningitis. When my daughter Neve was just 5 weeks old she suffered with viral menintis. Something I knew absolutely nothing about but by being able to have access to charities like meningitis now I now have a better understanding. Not only would I like to raise money for them for my family but in 2011 one of my oldest Friends Nathan Meekins lost his daughter Phoebe to Meningitis at just 13 days old. I witnessed the sadness and grief this has had on many people. So to be able to give something back to this charity would mean a lot to both families.

MACMILLIAN

Macmillian support those who are living with cancer. The reason this charity was chosen is a friend of mine Andrew Ross (Giggsy) wife has battled cancer. She has been a supporter of Macmillian and raised thousands of pounds for them. I'd love to be able to also raise a little bit for them to.

HEADWAY SUFFOLK

A charity that supports those with brain injury, stroke and neurological conditions.

In March 2002 we sadly lost Marc Lucchi a talented footballer and a lovely lad. After Marc's Passing Robbie and Sandra have raised Money for Headway in Marc's memory. A charity that means a lot to them and also to his friends.

I understand times are tough for everyone so I really appreciate any amount large or small you are able to donate.

Thank you

Dany
