Why I’m Running for Rainbows – In Memory of Darcy
This September, I’m taking on the Nottingham Half Marathon in memory of a very special little girl – Darcy Grace Standeven.
Darcy was just six years old when she passed away unexpectedly. She was full of joy, love, and laughter, and part of a family that wrapped her in warmth every single day. Her sudden loss left a space no one can fill, but her light still shines in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In the days no parent should ever have to face, Rainbows Hospice was there — not just as a place, but as a community of care, compassion, and support. They helped Darcy’s family through heartbreak with dignity and kindness, offering comfort when it was needed most.
I’m running to honour Darcy’s memory and to help Rainbows continue their vital work for other children and families facing the unthinkable. Every step I take is for Darcy — and every pound raised helps another family feel less alone.
If you’re able to donate, thank you. Your support means more than words can say.
