On 20 June, Darren and Steve are tackling a 50km non-stop march up the North Yorkshire coast, on a mission to help those coping with dementia.

They’re taking on this in-day ultramarathon to raise funds for Dementia Forward - a local charity helping those impacted by dementia to find their way through the fog of diagnosis, care and community support. It’s a growing societal challenge and all too familiar to them both, having lost family members to the condition.

Darren has never completed this distance on foot before, and the only time Steve did, he lost two toenails! So neither is relishing the road ahead.
