On January 7th 2025, my mum passed away suddenly, leaving a space in our lives that can never be filled. In her honour and memory i’ve decided to take on the challenge of running the London half marathon in April 2026.

Running was something truly special to mum, in 2017 she ran the London full marathon for action cancer in memory of my auntie, a cause and challenge she took on with such strength and love. Over the years she completed countless 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and two full marathons. Her passion for running was infectious, she inspired everyone around her with her determination, her heart and her never ending support.

Now it’s my time to run for her.

I’ll be raising money for Diabetes UK, a cause that has become very personal to us after learning that mum had been living with diabetes. While it was a part of her life that many didn’t know about, it’s one that we hope to shine a light on, in hope that funds raised will go towards helping other families and individuals facing the same challenges.

This has been the most difficult time for all of us who knew and loved her. Mum was the most caring, generous and loving woman you could ever meet. I know that doing this run in her memory, for a cause that matters, is something that would make her incredibly proud.
