Raising money for Soulscape and UK-Med

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On September 21st - I will be running the Berlin Marathon.

I have decided that I would like to use this opportunity to raise some money for two amazing charities.

Some of you will be aware that I have previously volunteered with UK-Med. They are a Manchester based charity that provide medical care in disaster zones. This currently includes one of the last remaining hospitals in Gaza and ongoing work in Ukraine.

I am also a trustee with a local charity called Soulscape. They are a christian charity based in Berkshire that work with local schools to provide support for young people.

I'm hoping to split the money 50:50 - so if possible - I'd like you to click on the links and give a little to both!

Thanks for your support!

25th August

Its been a hectic week. I’ve been trying to juggle volunteering at Reading festival with finding time to run. Plus the normal life admin – and occasionally going to work!

Soulscape does the majority of its work in schools across Berkshire. However for one long weekend a year – it moves to a massive field in Reading and provides wellbeing support 24/7 for the young people that attend Reading Festival. For the first time, I joined the Soulscape team and did two shifts on-site at the Festival. It was quite fun, really cold at night) and dusty by day. It was a simple stuff, directions to showers and helping people who'd lost phones - but it felt important to be a friendly face to those that were struggling with being away from home.

31st August

Yesterday was the Henley River Half-marathon. I used this as practice race and completed it in 1hr 53min 37secs. Slightly slower than planned - but still a good run-out and a beautiful morning to run along the Thames.
