Story
I like the "pay it forward" philosophy and believe most teachers have plenty of credit in this concept to just accept my help as a little bit of a withdrawal against that, karma giving them a well-deserved "pay on the back" if you like, but many have asked to pay something towards my favourite charities and if you'd like to do that please use this link.
Up until now I have worked on the principle of the "pay it forward" philosophy and continue to believe this works well, particularly for teachers who go well beyond the requirements of their contracts in supporting their pupils. Where I've charged a fee to visit schools or do online talks etc I've donated to my favourite charities from that fee. My brother has been raising money regularly by running marathons and has amassed a healthy total. I've never actually added up how much I've donated, but with sibling rivalry being what it is I thought I might see if I could challenge him further!
The three charities we currently send your donations to are:
The Rockinghorse Childrens Charity
The Pilgrims Hospice Charity
The Education Support Charity
Please do not feel that you have to donate, as I have said many a time, teachers exemplify the "pay it forward" philosophy and I am perfectly content for anyone to take my help for free as a small repayment on everything you do and have done for the benefit of your pupils over the years.
