We (Ryan and I) are taking on a half marathon to raise money for a cause that means an enormous amount to both of us. In 2015, I was involved in a serious road traffic accident that came very close to costing me my life. The physical and emotional impact of that experience has stayed with me ever since, and it opened my eyes to just how crucial organisations like RVT are for victims and their families. I was fortunate enough to survive and rebuild — something I never take for granted — and now I feel strongly about giving something back in honour of those who weren’t as lucky. That’s why Ryan and I are taking on this challenge: to raise both funds and awareness for the Trust and the vital work it does. If our story can help even one person access the support they need, then every mile we run will be worth it.
